Teeth Whitening by Pearlys

Introduction

Pearlys was set up in 2005 by it’s founder, Liz Ridley.  She wanted to provide a comprehensive range of safe, effective and affordable teeth whitening treatments and home maintenance products.  Since its conception Pearlys has grown to become the premier provider of in-clinic and at-home teeth whitening treatments and products in the UK.  For your peace of mind, Pearlys holds EU certificates for all of its products which can be viewed on their website.

Pearlys is sold nationwide and can be found on the shelves of exclusive stores such as Harrods and Harvey Nichols.  The company also has a huge celebrity following and is the teeth whitening clinic of choice for reality TV shows including The X Factor, TOWIE, The Biggest Loser and Made in Chelsea.  Celebrity clients include Alexandra Burke, JLS, Pixie Lott, Josie Gibson, Mark Wright, Mario Falcone, Adel Silva and many more (for celebrity testimonials visit www.pearlys.co.uk/celebrity-clients.)

How it works

The days of using hydrogen peroxide to whiten teeth are long gone.  The main ingredient in Pearlys products is sodium perborate which works in a similar way.  Although you can’t see them, your teeth are full of tiny pores that, over time, get clogged the same as pores in your skin.  Teeth can get stained from smoking and of course what you eat and drink.  The gel created by Pearlys breaks down into oxygen bubbles and deep cleans all of the pores in your teeth.  The best part is that there is absolutely no pain, sensitivity or discomfort, either during the process or afterwards.

Can I get my teeth whitened?

Contraindications – if you answer YES to any of these questions then you should not whiten/brighten your teeth:

1.    Are you under 18 years of age?

2.    Do you have untreated dental problems? (i.e. broken fillings, untreated cavities, chipped, worn or cracked teeth or gum disease).

3.    Are you epileptic?

4.    Do you have any medical conditions that might preclude you from teeth whitening?

5.    Female clients: Are you pregnant or breast-feeding?

  • The pre-treatment shade of your teeth will be checked using the Vita Shade Guide which will be recorded on your form.
  • Brush your teeth for 2 minutes using the Pearlys Weekly Brightening Powder.
  • Your specialist will pass your sealed Self-Treatment Trays for you to open.
  • Dry your teeth with a tissue and insert the pre-filled tray into your mouth.

Option 2

This treatment is slightly longer but gives even greater results:

  • The whitening results are improved by an additional 30-50% with a double application.
  • It is still a simple, safe and fast self-treatment.
  • Can also be done in conjunction with another treatment.
  • No sensitivity.

Steps are as follows:

  • You will be required to complete a consultation form prior to treatment.

  • Lay back and relax for 20 minutes.
  • Take our your self-treatment tray and place into a disposable bag.
  • Rinse mouth well with water and dry teeth with a tissue.
  • Insert the second pre-filled tray into your mouth as you did the first.
  • The specialist will position the L.E.D. light in front of your teeth and put on your goggles.
  • Lay back and relax for another 20 minutes.
  • Take our your self-treatment tray and place into a disposable bag.
  • Rinse mouth well with water and dry teeth with a tissue.
  • Brush teeth again using Pearlys Daily Teeth-Whitening Foam.
  • Have a final rinse and then check the after-treatment shade of your teeth and admire!

Option 3

Customised Tray Home-kit

You can purchase a professional customised tray home whitening kit on its own or you can also have an Express Treatment (Option 1 above) first.  This is a logical combination as it will provide a great start to your whitening with the express and you can then continue with the home-kit.

Steps are as follows:

  • Your teeth whitening specialist will assist you, in the salon, in taking your own impressions using the customised tray home-kit.  (IMPORTANT – only dental professionals may physically take their client’s impressions.  We are not dental professionals and cannot therefore put our hands in or near a client’s mouth.  We therefore guide you  assist you in taking your own impressions.

  • Once impressions have been taken they are placed into a zip lock bag and sent off by post to Pearlys laboratory technicians who will prepare your customised trays.  These will exactly fit the user’s teeth, this means that the whitening gel will evenly cover the whole tooth and given an even whiteness.  The trays are very comfortable and may be worn overnight but minimum of 3 hours.

  • Your home kit will be hand fabricated by Pearlys laboratory technicians and sent directly to you by recorded delivery within 7 working days of receipt.  The kit will include your customised teeth-whitening trays and 2 syringes of whitening gel.

  • Your specialist will give you instructions on how to use your trays but written instructions are also included in the kits.

Post-whitening Care

There are certain rules to adhere to following the whitening of your teeth, whether you have had an express treatment or are using the home kits.  The main rule is regarding food and drink.  Continuing to consume all of those products that have contributed, over time, to the staining of your teeth in the first place, is not an option and, if you intend to do so, then there is little point going through the teeth whitening process.
